My goal to get more organized in 2013

Starting over with BYW class has build the urge in me to start over anew in other areas of my life, too. I feel that over the past five years I have gathered so much clutter in our apartment that it’s really weighting me down.
From heart I’m no a-type in organizing and having a clean, structured home. Don’t get me wrong, I’m no messy either, let’s say I really try and most of the time it works well, but there are some areas that need improvement.

Until Christmas/New year I want to get some things more structured and organized.
  • closet (mine, hubs and general like bedding and towels)
  • bookshelf in our living room ( I have way too much books, honestly!)
  • my magazine collection ( as crazy as it seems, I can’t simply throw them out without re-looking at them)
09.10

So my goal is to accomplish these three golden milestones until New Year’s Eve. Crossing my fingers that I can stick to it but pressure is up because I share it with you guys now and hope to show you results soon.
Have you re-organized any part of your home lately? Have you sticked to the changes or have you slipped in old habits?

Color transferring into fall

You might have noticed that I did some adjustments on my blog design yesterday. Actually I just changed the color theme and added a new profile photo.
The funny thing is, that I feel now really ready for fall, colorful leafs in warm shades of orange, yellow and red and just cosy surroundings. Have you noticed that my hair fits this setting perfectly? The question here is like the hen and the egg…what was first?
While surfing the internet yesterday evening I came round an adorable fall aquarelle print on Lauren Trevey's Etsy shop which fits my mood perfectly. It’s on my wish list now, perhaps the hubs is noticing?

Blogging your way…getting ready for class!!!

Whoop, whoop I’m so excited to finally getting started with blogging e-class tomorrow.

It’s been really quiet here for the last weeks but I hope to be back now with more drive and inspiration gathered from this blogging class held by Holly Becker, the famous editor behind the interior blog Decor8 which I absolutely adore!

So what I did Friday straight after getting my log in details for the online campus was to set up my little home office at our dining table. Our dedicated office sadly isn’t a place of inspiration this days as it’s really stuffed with boxes and things we don’t need right now that I took with me from my parents house when it was sold last fall.

Of course I started a new notebook for all my notes and ideas ( honestly, who can’t resist buying stationary and notebooks??) and I really feel that writing my ideas down physically is more necessary for me than I ever thought. I honestly don’t have a thing for typing creative stuff on a blank page with this blinking bar making me feel crappy and no space to draw little things around my bullet points. I’m more like getting in action and brainstorming right away ( and allowing my thoughts to come right out of my pen whilst writing) and coloring along with some colored pencils.

So with this things said, I try to stick to my new notebook, assembling my thoughts and sucking in the new inspiration for my blog and my life, too.

A catalyser is dearly needed at this point, so I'm really looking forward to get to know my fellow students and amazing teachers more closely.

For this course I try to stick to the quote “ Most smiles are started by another smile!”(Frank A. Clark)

High Five For Friday!

Is it Thursday? Nooo it’s Friday yet and the week is done! The weather forecast let me hope  for lots of sunshine and warm temperatures. As the leafs begin to turn colorful that’s what I need to brighten the setting!

This week had some small highlights for me, so well, here we go and let’s have a look:

1. Bought the burgundy skirt I showed you here. The delivery arrived on Wednesday and I wore it on Thursday already as I was so keen on some fall clothing. The temperatures were a bit chilly the last days so some opaque tights are the perfect fit with it.

2. My lovely gladioli are such beauties. Really appreciate them around our flat in this elegant floor vase. Love this time of the year as they are in season now to buy them quite cheap at the garden center.

3. The hubs got me some sweet treats that I loved when I was a child. Those fizzy Ufos are the best. I always got them after an appointment at pediatrician when I was really brave. Oh those times are long gone…but the candy is back again._MG_0524-001

4. Confession! Last nights I took a hot-water-bottle with me to bed to make me feel more cozy. How I enjoy crawling into a preheated bed. Honestly it’s September already, no shame about cold feet and the relaxing treat of an hot-water-bottle.

5. This week my sweet man wins the award for the most caring husband of the week ( of the month, the year??) He prepared some sandwiches for me to take to work with me, made me some tea when I got home and was really attentive. I love him for this little things he does for me especially on those weeks when work sucks.

What were you’re highlights this week? Have a look over at Lauren's to check out the links.
