Cocooning

A huge trend that I recognized the last years turning up and getting bigger and bigger especially during fall and winter season is the cocooning.

And what is it you’re asking? Well imagine you’re a little caterpillar snuggling up in soft and cosy materials having a great time and hanging out just like pupated . You’re waiting to turn into a beautiful butterfly after retreating from the busy world outside recharging your batteries.

Now and then I need this little time out for myself. Don’t get me wrong I loved to got out, meeting friends and party but honestly as much as often as I enjoy being social I like to stay at home with my husband having a cuddly evening, treating us with delicious food, lighting candles, sipping some wine or tea and read something or watch a good movie.

When I’m on my own I really like to do some beauty rituals, taking long a bubble baths, manicure, pedicure, facial masks…the whole program. It’s just a girl thing. Do you agree?

Have a cosy weekend and do some cocooning to recharge for next week.

Fall colors – keeping my closet up to date

Honestly, I can’t wait for fall to arrive. All the bright and shiny leaves on the trees, falling down eventually. Strolling through the park with my hubs cuddled together in cosy clothes and enjoying a tea afterwards.
Okay I’m drifting .. but you get the picture. Right now for spring and summer I collected a good variety of colors but most of the time I stick to light pastel ones. My favorites are coral and mint colors so far and I will definitely find an appropriate way to work them in for fall, too. Some knit wear, cardigans or thicker leggings will do, I think.
Let me show you a few pieces I picked as my favorites so far. I’m especially keen on the mustardy yellow as I think it will work like a charm with the ombre look and my hopefully soon touch of brown.

Dressing up to attend a wedding

Rolf and I are invited to a summer wedding in early September in Kühlungsborn, Germany.
I am really excited about it as it is a combination of celebration and weekend trip to the seaside. I have never been there before and happy to explore the pleasures of the Balic Sea.

I hope there will be lots of sunny weather to relax, do some walks, perhaps shop a little bit and have a good time. Perhaps I have to reactivate my connection to Petrus to let the sun shine as I am so happy that our dear friends are tying the knot and they should have a perfect day. They are such a cute couple.

One of the hardest task for attending a chic wedding ( it takes place in the four seasons - wow) is to find the right dress for the celebration. Right now I am really struggeling to find the right pick. A lot of dresses that I found on the internet are way to short and far away from what you would consider right for an formal event.

I´d like to show you some dresses I picked out but about which I am not sure yet which one to actually wear.

You get an idea now of what I consider appropriate for the party. A vibrant, delicate dress with an a-shaped skirt that "flys" as you dance. A pastel candy colour is what I would like to go for most. It´s light and cheery. Black would be a classic pick, too and slims your shape but this time I will dare to wear more colour!

Will keep you updated about my style progess for this occaision.

Whyyy does it always rain on me...???

Calando

It´s raining all day long the past few days and I´m thinking about this Travis song and humming it to myself.

Girls, we are having officially summer since last thursday, but no hot and sunny days lately. With some rainy days in a row I´m always starting to feel a bit depressed and gloomy and my chocolate consumption is incresing in no time. Bad for bikini shaping and my mood, too.
So I browsed the internet and picked some rainboots that I liked. Actually I haven´t worn rainboots since I was five, but this fall I´m interested in investing in some Hunter Boots. Not necessary in bright colours as trendy expensive pieces should be classics that you wear a long time. Will keep you updated on that.
But for now, IT´S MEANT TO BE SUMMER! So no boots to be ordered yet! Should be picking dressy flipflops instead. I got to go...
